MaxMind Not even running a check sometimes? (E.G No fraud check details show!)

Hi,

 

We've noticed a huge problem over the last couple of days. It seems MaxMind has suddenly started skipping over an order or two every day. You know you usually get the table of fraud-check results on the bottom of an order, well - its just not there on some orders.

 

There's not even an option to re-run the fraud check. WHMCS just acts as if the module is disabled and makes no attempt to verify the order, and activates it.

 

Could I get a clarification as to whats going on? According to our MaxMind logs, the order is being verified, but nothing is being returned to WHMCS by the looks of it! We've got PLENTY of credits on MaxMind, so its not that. Plus its been running without a hitch on our server for a long time, and we've not had any recent upgrades/changes, so I know its not our server.

 

Any ideas?

I presume they're NOT orders from existing clients?

 

Good call, mate, as many hosts probably have that option ticked, though it is really best to have their new orders go through a fraud check as well. In one case, for instance, a client of ours gave his developer "friend" in another country access to everything including his WHMCS account. Later on the friend became embittered with the account owner and attempted to order a dedicated server, but of course the fraud detection notices when an IP doesn't match the address so no problem.

Hi,

 

I'm having the same problem. Some of the orders (from the top of my mind 1 in 100) are not checked at all by MaxMind and the link to re-run check is not displayed.

 

I can confirm that they are new customers (not existing customers) and anyway our settings are to check existing customers as well.

 

I was hoping to find an answer here and not burden the WHMCS support staff with tickets.

 

EDIT: I have the latest version 4.4.1 and I'm experiencing the problem. And the problem also occured with 4.3.
