Finally a working integration into the phpBB3 forums!!

 

How this mod works:

 

· When a client signs up in WHMCS, a user account will automatically be created in phpBB3 using their name as the username, email address and a custom profile field for the password.

 

· The clients phpBB3 login details can be managed from within WHMCS. When a client updates their email address or forum password in WHMCS, it will be updated on the phpBB3 database too.

 

· When a client is deleted in WHMCS, their associated phpBB3 account is also removed.

 

Please note: This addon DOES NOT provide a loginshare or full integration.

I have future development plans for this addon.

 

I'm currently working on announcement integration - When an announcement is published in WHMCS, it will automatically be posted into a specified forum in phpBB3.

 

I would like your feedback on other feature requests. What else do you think would be useful in this addon?

Would it be possible for the clients to be able to set their username when signing up through WHMCS? As I do not think all clients would like to use their full name as their username on a public forum.

 

Yes this is certainly possible. I will include this option in the next release.

 

Appears he's manually approving each order. I had to wait a few hours before i could download.

 

Yes i had been manually accepting orders for security reasons. The product is now set to automatically activate when payment is received.

 

15 hours and still counting. the ticket the payment created has been deleted from the ticket history so he has been in his admin area to do this.

 

Payments do not create tickets on my system, so i'm afraid i'm not quite with you there.

I'm a genuine guy. I've created this addon to help you get the most out of your WHMCS -> phpBB3 setup and i've released it at what i think is a very reasonable price. I have not set any "only includes upgrades for a year" restrictions, or monthly payment plans. You pay the little amount and get unlimited support and upgrades.

 

My slight delay in answering your questions is surely a forgivable occurance considering what you're getting no? ;)

The one i posted for free i requested be removed because i plan to develop the addon into something bigger. Therefore it is now a commercial addon.

 

The current version functions faultlessly, whereas the free one had some code bugs.

 

Did you try it?

 

I haven't tried it yet but was going to.

 

However, I see you posted a new one.

 

Is there an example on your website?

 

Also, not sure if this was asked but is there a way you can use their own username or email except a person's real name?

The addon is currently installed on my website. You can register without purchase there and test the addon for yourself.

 

Yes this question was previously asked and i will be including this option in the next version, which hopefully will be released today or tomorrow.

Ok well let's take a look at what's happened here. You've placed an order and because it was not activated within 24 hours (which is my time frame) you are not happy. Your order has now been processed and activated, i've even helped you twice in live support and you're still not happy.

 

You must understand that it's the weekend, i'm a web host and a web designer and work load can currently get on top of me.

 

It's apparent you are unhappy with my service, so if you wish you can submit a cancellation request and i will issue you with a full refund.

 

As i said before i'm a genuine guy and i've taken the time to write this addon for you. Some appreciation wouldn't go a miss ;)

UPDATE

 

I've just released version 1.1

 

Changes:

 

- Added the ability for clients to choose their own username

- Added the ability to enable/disable the addon

- Added a setting to allow the client to choose username OR generate it using name (as in previous version)

Hey I'm happy FrostByte... This is more a programming question than an addon question.

 

I see where the custom field name is used for the label text on the registration form. Can more human readable field names be used or is MySQL going to throw a fit. Forum User Name vice forum_username etc
