sohouk
A client called the other day and asked us how to create an account. I was puzzled because I would have thought it was obvious – there must be a link somewhere. But no – or at least I can’t find one I found clientregister.tpl in the template folder which looked promising, but there is no corresponding clientregister.php file to call. So, if a client wants to create a new account, how do they do it – or is it a case of asking us to create if for them (which seems to defeat the purpose of automation). Just to be clear – I am talking about a new , blank client account with no domains or services in it.

GGWH-James
You get them to go to register.php depending if you have enable client registration on or not. I forgot to mention that part. Yes, you would also need ot go to WHMCS admin -> Setup -> General Settings -> Other and ensure that the box for "Allow Client Registration" is checked.
