aXeR
Has anyone made an rDNS module for WHMCS which will allow clients to create/update/delete/display rDNS records aggainst their IP's? If no, is anyone with WHMCS development experience interested in being paid to create one?
tsiedsma
This is likely not possible because of how rDNS is typically handled. The IP Owner which is typically an ISP or Service Provider has their own way of managing rDNS. In order to create a module, it would have to be specific for each provider.

Yes, we've an entire DNS Management system, as products with a WHMCS module, and has an API so would be trivial for you/them to manage from within WHMCS - it provides you the ability to "delegate" entries to another user - so you can give server clients control of their PTR
ExsysHost
like tsiedsma said each datacenter is different in how they delegate, we work with two different datacenters and they both have a different way of reverse delegation, one outfit requires you to use an API while the other delegates your subnets to a specific domain and it is within this single domains zone file that you change the ptr record for all the domains you host.... I am sure there are other ways done by other datacenters.... really this is something best left for each company to develop their own solution, its really not that hard takes about 2 hours time to write such a system.
