free account - no invoice

A friend of mine host his business on my server and I set the host (only) to "free account"

Now WHMCS still creates an invoice for 0.00$ (?)

I thought "free account" meant "no invoice" aswell... so how can I prevent that WHMCS creates an invoice for this issue?

thnx in advance

An invoice will be created even for a free account, as you are still providing a service to an active client. For IRS and HMRC purposes an invoice/reciept must be generated and presented even if you are providing a service for free.

hmm... ok

So there is no way to skip invoice creation for specific accounts?

I myself have also about 5 websites running... I don't need any invoice for that....

any one?

I have several websites running, but i just add these in WHM and i dont put them through WHMCS, why place your own websites through WHMCS

If you set the billing cycle to Free Account, then there is no next due date, and no invoice is ever generated.

That's how it works on our install anyway.

ok thnx scurell...

I want to keep my login details on one place... that's why I want to keep it in 1 system...

ok thnx scurell...

I want to keep my login details on one place... that's why I want to keep it in 1 system...

Just tested it with domainnames of mine but still it generates an invoice :?:

  • I set the domainnames on "free account"
  • first time / recurring amount set 0.00
  • To be certain I set registration periode on100 years
  • set expiredate / next due date on 00/00/0000

After the latest cronjob the system generated an invoice for all my domainnames (total 0$) ... :|

so my question: is it possible or not possible to prevent whmcs making an invoice if hosting or domainname is set on "free account"?

just checked my domainnames and the next due date is now 01/01/1970 and some domainnames are set on expired (have expiredate 00/00/0200)...

any suggestions are welcome

in my install there are 3 users that have free accounts and not one of them gets a invoice...

try this

go to the clients page whos accounts should be free then click the "products/services" tab and look for "Billing Cycle" change that value to "Monthly" and click save

then when it reloads look for the following

"First Payment Amount" and change to 0.00

"Recurring Amount" and change to 0.00

"Next Due Date" and change to 00/00/0000

now click save again

lastly find "Billing Cycle" again and change back to "free account"

then click save on last time and you should be done

do this to all accounts that should be free accounts

you should now never get a invoice to the selected accounts

this is what i have done to all 3 users in my WHMCS and i never have a problem with it. i even set up a test account to see if it worked properly

let me know how you get on

ahh ok i thought he was on about products/services, to me the O/P sounds like hosting service

yes it was about domainnames (sorry to not to be clear).

I set the "register for" on 100 years and due date at 01/01/2200 ... I hope it is solved now... allthough I hope in silence that I ones will receive the invoices again... meaning that I will be 135 yo by then :)

thnx all!
