Unsecured connection

BasilFawlty

Question

I recently installed a trial version. It is just installed in a directory off my main site, but it is in an unsecured directory: http://www.mydomain.com/whmcs/

My question is, when I do things that connect to my server (like to terminate or establish an account) am I sending root password info across an unsecure connection? Do I need to make my install directory https? If so, how do I go about that?

Assuming you're running cPanel, the connection to the server from WHMCS can be set to use SSL, and also use the access hash rather than the root password.

Also, this probably isn't the place to discuss how to install an SSL certificate on your website. If you're having trouble with that, you may want to hire someone who is capable of handling such things.

Thanks very much
