D-Litz
I just sent an email to my Sales Rep with a link to this thread...
Adamski
I seem to remember when I signed up (outside of WHMCS) some time back that it took them a couple of weeks to get round to dealing with me. My account manager since then has been great so shout if you have any more problems. Adam
staher
Well, I got a response from them 5 days later. and am now signed up. I later emailed them to ask how to get the free SSL EV certificate as promised on their site for all resellers. See here: http://www.globalsign.com/partners/ssl-resell/index.html The account manager responded after 3 business days saying that this is a promotion that doesn't apply to the WHMCS promotion. Well this is not true, the site clearly states that it is a reseller feature. I wrote back explaining this, but still no response. Has anyone here managed to get their free SSL EV certificate yet? D-Litz
I was told by my account rep that I would be receiving a coupon code to order mine, that was via email a few days ago. Nothing yet. I'm undecided on how to use GlobalSignSSL... WHMCS has the module, however it does not cover all the nifty features GlobalSignSSL offers like the auto-csr. They have a few different API's to choose from if you decide to go that route. However, it took me about 4 days to be contacted by my rep, however since then we have spoken on the phone and/or email regularly so far.
Adamski
They don't give you a free EV certificate. The GlobalSign site says: FREE SSL Certificate for use on the Partner's web site And if you get a free EV one let me know so I can ask for a refund! staher
I guess some have better luck with their reps than others. Agreed about the many features that cannot be accounted for within WHMC. how about the SANs? It seems you would need to wait for them to be entered to get a price! how could u account for that in your price list and when integrating the order?
Adamski
Well the price is set per additional SAN so you can just see what your resller price is and then cater for your retail price. Not too tricky.

This is what I am talking about. I need one to use on my own site as a partner/reseller. They are trying to not give it to me.
Adamski
You said you were trying to get an EV one. Their site doesn't say you get an EV one. They should be giving you something even if it's an AlphaSSL cert as it doesn't say that it excludes promo reseller sign ups. You do get very good discount pricing initially as a WHMCS sign up so you could buy one at your reseller rate. Not free but cheaper than you'll probably get anywhere else.

Actually they *do* say it is an EV certificate in the reseller resource center: http://www.globalsign.com/partner-center/integrate.html Here is the relvant part "Activate the SSL padlock / Green Address Bar Showcase GlobalSign technology by installing your free Reseller SSL Certificate onto your site. As well as a great way to show customers how trusted, secure and credible the GlobalSign SSL brand really is, you get an EV Certificate worth hundreds of dollars completely free of charge! Speak to your Account Manager about also displaying the Extended Validation green bar and showcase who you are to your customers." GlobalSign
Hi all, My name is Chris Hudson and I’m the European Channel Sales Manager for GlobalSign. Over the past few weeks we have received numerous leads from WHMCS customers requesting a partner account and I can assure you that all leads have been picked up and contacted at some point. If you have missed this communication then please contact me directly and i will assign you a rep who will be in instant contact. When offering the special pricing for this WHMCS model we did not include the Free certificate that we provide to new partners as we were offering WHMCS customers pricing that other companies would not get but after reading the discussions within this forum and my sales guys feedback I only think it fair to offer this out as well. Please note that this 1yr free certificate is part of our marketing assistance so it can only be used on a domain that is used by your company, visible by your customers. Thank you for your interest in GlobalSign and i look forward to working alongside you all Kind regards Chris Hudson chris.hudson@globalsign.com
