Domain taken but still able to order it.

No, this isn't how it should work. If there's a response from the WHOIS server it checks if the response indicates the domain is available or not. Only if the available text string is found would it report available. If nothing is returned it would return unavailable. Only if the TLD is not supported for lookups which you can see when you view Config > Domain Pricing is the domain always allowed.

Well I presume the .es domain is supported because it is in your whoisservers.php and does not give any error.

Nevertheless it let clients register .es domains that already are registered.

Why is that ?

Matt, I've been having customers order and pay for .com and .net domain names that are unavailable and have been registered for months.

 

Any ideas?
