ServWise.com
I am having a few issues with whmcs and .uk domain names via ENOM. 1. Domain contacts are not updated for .uk domains, if I do the change directly via ENOM they are changed but not via WHMCS. 2. Quite a few people who try to register .uk domains (which initially are accepted) are then refused by nominet due to invalid domain contacts. Sometimes it goes through but mostly it doesn't and I cant really see a pattern or a reason for most occasions where it fails. Has anyone worked out why they fail or is it just me?
scurrell
1. Domain contacts are not updated for .uk domains, if I do the change directly via ENOM they are changed but not via WHMCS. I think you'll find even if you update them at ENOM, they are not updated at Nominet. We always have to submit a ticket at ENOM to get them updated. Mentioned it to them several times, and they say they are "working on it". 2. More often than not it's either the postcode format, or selecting something other than "Individual" as registrant type, and then not supplying the additional required info, such as Company Number for "UK Limited Company".
JimJ
As far as i can tell, the validation needed by Nominet on both WHMCS and Enom are shockingly poor. As mentioned above, no requirement for the company number is asked for on .ltd.uk domains (a Nominet requirement). Also postcode formating (upper case with correct spacing) is ignored by both as well. Its pretty much flawed on both WHMCS and Enom which is a shame as its a few simple lines of code needed by both..
swilders
The main problem we have is when we accept an order for a .uk domain registration - it always fails because there isn't a registrant name completed.

Must be something wrong with your ordering process. "Registrant Name" is a required field, and the order can't progress without it.
swilders
Not when you're placing the order on behalf of the customer through the "Place new order" screen in the admin area.

WHMCS CEO Matt Posted April 15, 2010 WHMCS CEO Share Posted April 15, 2010 Not when you're placing the order on behalf of the customer through the "Place new order" screen in the admin area. You can set it on the Domains tab though before you attempt the registration if doing that.
