How to display custom fields using the clientareaproducts.tpl

I want to be able to display one or more custom fields from the "clientareaproducts.tpl" to provide a domain like reference to a purchased service (that has no domain). Services with no domain just display the product name which can make it difficult for the customer to find the correct service if there are multiple products of the same type. I've used the {debug} tag to display all the available variables and by default there are no custom field variables available. I've searched though all the forum posts and I couldn't find a definitive answer. I'm sure this is a common modification so any help would be appreciated.

Answer from Matt via email:

Custom field information is only provided in the clientareaproductdetails.tpl template file and not the one you are specifically referring to here so you are right that if you did need the values from custom fields in that page you would need to use a custom PHP code block to query it from the database directly.
