[FIXED] Billable Items [4.2]

Short version:

After upgrading from 4.1.2 to 4.2.1 the billable item summary shows 2x the total amount entered for a client's uninvoiced billable items.

 

Reproduce:

 

I have a client with a pending billable item for $30 in version 4.1.2.

Upgrade to 4.2.1.

The client's billable item page will show Uninvoiced Items for $60 (1).

 

Quick-Fix:

 

Edit the billable item and change the "Hours/Qty" field to 1 from 0.

The client's billable item page will now correctly show Uninvoiced Items for $30 (1).

 

Issue:

 

The upgrade should, if the fix is correct, change all billable item quantities to 1 on upgrade.

Second, if you really want a 0 qty billable item, the total for that item should be zero. (Not the amount entered, and not double the amount entered either.)

Yes I can confirm this issue. but do we need to do this or shall we wait for this bug to get solved and reinstall?

I haven't tested yet, but I'm curious what having a non-zero quantity will do to the line item when the invoice gets created. I'll find out when my cron runs tonight....

Thanks for the report. Having a non-zero quantity won't do anything when it comes to the invoice generation - it's at the time of creating the billable item that the hours are multiplied by the rate in the case of time billing to result in the total amount of that billable item.

 

Attached is the patched file for the admin folder to correct this.

Matt, I have just downloaded the latest version two days ago, installed it and have the same problem. Why isn't this fixed yet, almost 3 months later?

It is fixed, and the fix is posted above. There hasn't been a new release since it was reported so it's not included by default yet.
