@Alistair -

Well I have seen this template many times and it's used very well with your website. Now with that being said from a consumers point of view your website claims to offer the "Best Value UK Hosting" but your own website is not even on a server in the UK that alone would draw me off.

So these would be my points for you to look at

  • Own Website not in UK
  • Need Live Help on website
  • Phone Number (Communications is a MUST)

But other than that very good.

why do you need live help. I don't use it, rather have them call in for help ect..

@mylove4life

It's not that you need a live help or even phone support but in any business the customers are always first and you should always have a front line of communication to your customers. Yes there are many other companies that only offer email support but at the same time when you read different source of reviews on then they have low ratings because customers are un-happy because they can't reach anyone.

It's just always been my position that when you operate a business you must not only think one sided from a hosting company point of view you must always take in account the customers point of view. Personally I would not use a service if I needed help or even have some pre-sales questions that it would take someone 24hrs. to respond to my ticket

@Alistair -

I have to agree with MediaPlayStudios.

Also if you are based in the Uk then you MUST by law display somewhare (usually in TOS) your business name and address. It is also a legal requirement to display a contact number either on your home page or a contact page.

A UK company using a US based server ? Uhhhh I don't think so. If you are trying to skirt around the UK privacy/tos laws you still wouldn't win in High Court.

Request: best-value-hosting.co.uk

whois server for *.uk is whois.nic.uk ...

connected to whois.nic.uk [213.248.201.163:43] ...

Domain name:

best-value-hosting.co.uk

Registrant:

Alistair Brown

Registrant type:

UK Individual

Registrant's address:

The registrant is a non-trading individual who has opted to have their

address omitted from the WHOIS service.

Just this alone screams *.... NO LEGIT company would ever hide who they were.

Hi

Yes this 100% breaches Nominets rules for .co.uk domains. A domain used for business purposes cannot be regsutered as a non-trading individual

check http://www.nominet.org.uk/other/whois/optout/

"Can anyone opt out?

Only domain name holders that are non-trading individuals can opt out of having their address details published on the WHOIS. In other words, if you do not use or plan to use your domain name for business, trade (this includes the registration of domain names for monetisation purposes, e.g. pay per click advertising etc) or professional transactions, you will be entitled to opt out of having your address displayed."

as this is 100% used for business purposes then it is using incorrect whois classification

The website is ok -- the rest you need to correct and classify your domain as a business -- many net savvy people are starting to check domain whois to see if they are a legit company with info that is usable. Many are now checking google's abuse groups.

I use http://www.mywot.com/ because its easy to tag a website as a * or spam source using the FF addon.

I usually don't make harsh comments without due reason but if I was Joe Jimbob I wouldn't touch your hosting with a 10 foot rubber check.

Ya know I just people that fake client feedback.. it shows you lie.

What do our clients think?

John Arden, C.E.O. - Star Players

"First class web hosting, perfect for what my business needs. Support is great and it's very competitively priced."

Then you go to the site and guess what....

Star Players is a company run by John Arden and Alistair Brown, operating in Norwich and the surrounding area.

You are your own best client. You can't think that everyone is this stupid not to go look ?
