chostwales
Hey guys. This one has really got me. We had some server issues over the weekend we had to move our WHMCS installation to a new server. This was a simple and everything is working fine.... however.... it will not backup the database. At first i noticed it because we were not getting the backup via email. We would get the CRON JOB ACTIVITY EMAIL, but not the backup email which usually comes about 5-10mins later. So i though i would pull one myself off the WHMCS Admin Interface. However, it will start to download and then at about 110kb downloaded it would stop (safari: the operation couldn't be completed) So i thought lets look around on the forum. The only two things that i could find was CSF causing an issue, so i thought i would disable it, just to check, but still did not download. Then i saw something about PHP Execution time. So i increased that, but it still did not download. Is there something im missing? Best, Nathaniel

We seem to be have either the same or at least close to the same problem.
othellotech
In mos of the DB backup issues I've looked into for people it's come down to 1. wrong permissions on directories or files (i.e. not allowed to access gzip etc) 2. not enough space in the hosting account - so the sql dump never gets saved 3. restrictions on processing - dump and zip and email a large DB can be process intensive and many "hosts" run software to watch the cpu cycles and kill your process if you're monopolising things
