ChrisB
Hello All I know in an ideal world I would go and pay a specialist to put these together for me, before I do I was just wondering if anyone had ever stumbled across any decent "templates" online that can be adapted? I have look at some of the sites I can see in members signatures and some of the T&C's especially are well long winded to say the very least, I dont want pages and pages of legal crap just straight forward plain English hosting terms and conditions, to me the longer they are the less likely they are to be read by anyone, I belive in transparency there must be a way of getting this across on plain english? THis must be a problem most of you have come across what did you do when you were putting your sites together? I did think that seen as I have to adhere to my dedicated server suppliers T&C's I should just use theirs? Is this a good idea? Teh privacy policy can be 1 paragraph for me I wont shre sell or rent info and will abide with Government agency requests apart from that Im at a loss as to what else shoudl be there really? Any suggestions anyone? Thanks in advance Chris

Thanks in advance Chris Hi Chris The best thing is to use your ded suppliers T/C as a template, this is because if your DED supplier t/c states no free hosting then you must adhere to this and pass this onto your resellers as with any specific parts of their T/C. You can easily adapt these t/c for your own hosting.

As you are a EU compnay (yes in the UK but still its EU), If your ToC and AUP are not signed off by a lawer then your company would be liable for anything and everything. There are always specific amendments that need to be made for each company, we use a datacenter in the US and a datacenter in the EU, Now we are based in italy and its a BIG thing over here to have an iron clasp ToC and AUP otherwise you could end up like the google execs liable for EVERY thing that happens on your network Directly or indirectly best thing to do is contact a local lawer who will probebly do you a desent deal on these docs. Good luck

Good luck I am in the UK and it is not necessary to have your TOC/AUP signed off by a lawyer, but you can if you want. All I did was draft my TOS/AUP and ask Trading Standards to look over these, they will tear your TOS/AUP to shreds, but at least when they are finished you will have a TOS/AUP that complies with UK trading/contractual laws. you could go to somewhere like http://www.website-contracts.co.uk and pay £35 for a general TOS, but you wll still need to adapt these to your own business
