NameCheap API Problem

ChrisB

Question

OK I have ploughed ahead and tried to get domain registration working, I requested API approval yesterday and now have a key, I added my server IP to the Namecheap console yesterday so presume all is well with that as it is now listed, problem is whenever I try to register a domain in test mode (haven't tried live mode) I get the following error

Parameter ClientIP is invalid

Bot confused (doesn't take much) can anyone shed any light on this for me, the error is listed in my WHMCS admin section.

Thanks in advance

Chris

I've upgraded to whmcs v4.1.2 and I am still experiencing the same behavior.

I log in as admin, click on Clients > List Domains, then click on the hyperlink in the ID column for a domain, and then I see the following error message on the page (but everything else on that page looks okay):

Registrar Error

Parameter ClientIP is invalid

Hello,

Please download the new version of WHMCS plugin 1.0.2 available at http://code.google.com/p/namecheap. The ClientIP is invalid bug has been fixed on the new version.

i have email from Namecheap

Hello,

We apologize, but we are unable to reproduce the error.

Can you please double check that you are using the correct version of the plugin? If you edit namecheap.php inside the modules\registrars\namecheap\ folder, you should be able to view the code and see the version as 1.0.2

Thanks,

Namecheap Support

Hello,

When you have test mode enabled, then it means that you should be using the username/ api key from namecheap sandbox (http://www.sandbox.namecheap.com). Please create an account in the sandbox, enable api (as you did in production), and then enter the username and api key to work in test mode.

Thanks,

Namecheap Support

Hello

OK I came to this thread as I was having exactly the same problem, I was running it in test mode so went to the sandobx in namecheap registered and changed the API details to the ones in sandbox and it functions perfectly.

However am I to assume to make it live all I need to do is change the api details back to my "real" account and uncheck the test mode? Am I just supposed to trust this will then function correctly?

Thanks
