WHMCS for recurring payments - security aspects

dce

Question

Hello everyone, we are defining a new service to be provided with the software as a service model.

We think that WHMCS is the right product for the billing and provisioning (we trying to develop a specific provisioning module), but we have a billing question for those who are more experienced than us.

We would like to use the model of recurring payments. Do we need to store credit card data on our server or are there payment gateways/services able to support this mode of payment (natively)?

Basically we are concerning about security aspects of storing the credit card details.

Any suggestions / best practices, besides standard security policy and PCI scan?
