Hotlinks
Hi I'm thinking about getting this addon but i'd really like to see an online demo before I do. Also, someone mentioned you cant bill overages when using this module. So, my questions are: 1. Has anybody got it working on their site so i can can test it? 2. Does it work as expected? 3. Is it true you can't bill overages ? 4. Is it worth it?

0 eastsydneyboy
There appear to be a few gotchas with this addon. Firstly, when you create an account the CPanel packages are not used. It just creates an account using the various resource limits that you have defined. The problem with this is that there is no associated CPanel Feature List for the new account. We have various levels of hosting accounts, each with its own feature list, so that we can restrict the features we offer by account type. We can't do this if we use this addon. This brings me to the next shortcoming. If you use a standard CPanel package for a basic plan, for example, and then upgrade to a higher level plan which has been defined by using this Configurable Options Addon. The upgrade will not work as expected as the addon appears to just modify the resources for the upgraded plan, leaving the original CPanel package defaults in place, so you're left with a kind of hybrid account with basic plan settings from the old CPanel package, but higher resource limits imposed on top by the upgrade to a generic package from this addon. At the moment, I wouldn't recommend using this if you have a mixture of plans as it makes switching between them a real pain, with customers complaining because there newly upgraded site doesn't quite work properly. 0 Hotlinks
Thanks for that info. Sounds like it will become a pain. I'll check it out again at the next release.
0 easyhosting
Thanks for that info. Sounds like it will become a pain. I'll check it out again at the next release. simple solution which works fine set up a configure plan for std cpanel accounts and another for reseller accounts. I had the same concerns but below is the reply Matt gave me in a support ticket. Also read http://wiki.whmcs.com/Configurable_Package_Addon this may help Hi, The addon gives you the ability to let customers choose what they want exactly and have it automatically provisioned. Without it, you can only do fixed packages or offer options and then set it up manually. Likewise the same with upgrades, this addon lets users change say just the disk space and upgrade by paying the difference rather than upgrading to a whole new package.
