  1. I found this posted a long time ago, but there was never a reply. I'm sure the answer is simple, but I cannot seem to find the answer. I just need to run a report with Product X or product Y, but do not know where to find the product ID's. It would be nice to just have a report in WHMCS that provided all of this info. I know we can figure it out by modifying searches, but I was hoping there was something more cut and dry. "I am looking for a simple click and 'show all' report of all of my product with their corresponding ID. ( the products/services under Report>exports lists the total for all clients and I want to just see my products and their ID )" - Arthur
  2. OK... so this is exactly what we are looking for... but... Oh wow. If it was a bear it would have eaten us. 2 of us could not see it. Do I get some kind of award for the dumbest question of the year? I hope the forum admins show mercy and delete this thread. Thanks for showing me the obvious Brian. Arthur
  3. We are looking for an addon that will allow us to attach files such as PDF's or jpg's to clients accounts or better yet to individual products. I found one under the WHMCS "Project Management Addon" but the search function within WHMCS and on the addon site is less then stellar. If I search "attachments" which right in the description of the addon above, I get no matches. I don't want to miss a hidden gem somewhere so decided to ask here. : Thanks in advance Arthur
  4. Hello. I can't seem to find the exact syntax to do this. We need to add the Client ID and if possible a total account summary to the invoices being sent out. Clients often lose invoices and because we don't have a statement available that is automated. we want to put a line that says "Account Total" and give the account total regardless if it is credit or debit. This is the ENTIRE account, not just the invoice. On this page http://docs.whmcs.com/PDF_Invoice we found "available variables" such as '$userid - Client ID Number ' but I keep breaking the PDF when I try to add it. I would also like to add this variable 'Remittance1' from the top of the template, variable section, but again not having much luck. I'm trying to add it in this file: invoicepdf.tpl Which is where I think it needs to be. Other than changing the font to Helvetica to fix PDF generation, I think this file is factory. Anyone want to throw me a bone?
  5. Agreed. A simple statement like you would get with QB or Simply is needed
  6. This almost sounds like a checkbox function that could be added into WHMCS. IE: Custom field shown in customer interface and invoices (check)
  7. Bump. We're also in need of some accounting reports. 1) Accounts Receivable Aged Report - SUMMARY 2) Accounts Receivable Aged Report - Individual I have details (printed samples) of what is needed. Anyone game for this? We may try to do this via a remote connection to the MySQL database, but having it included in the WHMCS interface would be great. This is where a program like Platypus really excels and WHMCS is left wanting.
  8. This has got to be worth something to someone. Anyone willing and able to do this as a paid project? Or maybe a patch/addition to the existing WHMCS feature set. If people think this is useless, I'm interested in hearing how you deal with the situation above.
  9. We are also looking for this. It would be great to have this on the customer portal and the invoice. It would be even better if you could have the intelligent search include these in the search when you were looking for something. After about 5 services that are the same, it becomes cumbersome to work with customer files when you have to manually go through each product/service to find the correct one.
  10. When in Admin on the client summary page there is the "Manage Credits" link. When you add a value of "20.00CAN" instead of "20.00" in the amount field, the system accepts the input but does not apply a credit. It does not appear that you can correct this so you must delete the credit and create a new one to fix it. Using V 4.21
  11. So are you saying that if I'm using the MD%-off option that the system WILL NOT reset a password and this is normal? So if I turn ON the MD% option the system will generate a new password and then everything will work even if the user does not currently have a password?
  12. Here is the email template. It sends it out to the client, but with no password, so it is like if the password is blank, the system doesn't have anything to change and sends back another blank. Actually, if one is in place, it just sends it. It does not create a new one and change it. Dear {$client_name}, As you requested, your password for our client area has now been reset. Your new login details are as follows: {$whmcs_link} Email: {$client_email} Password: {$client_password} To change your password to something more memorable, after logging in go to My Details > Change Password. {$signature}
  13. It escapes me why the Setup - Promotions does not do this (at least on the recurring part) I don't understand the reason that section of the setup would ask for so much information if it was not used.
  14. We have always had great support as well. No, it's not always the fastest, but as was said earlier, between support and forums things are pretty good. We are new to WHMCS and we are thrilled. I'm not saying it is all perfect, but I can give you a list of software we've been through and not one has worked this well out of the box. I'd rather have a slow response by a skilled technician than a quick response by someone who could jeopardize the database which runs our business.
  15. In the client summary and profile tabs there is the "Reset & Send Password" button. I want to know what is normal for this button. We currently have encryption OFF. (Disable MD5 Clients Password *Checked*) We have clients in our system with no passwords. when we click on "Reset & Send Password", they get an email with... no password. If they request a password reset via the client area reset password procedure, they get an email with... no password. I would assume that a reset would create a random password and send it out to the client, but I'm not too concerned about my assumptions. I'm sure there is a reason behind the design. I just want to know if this is normal activity by the system and if the MD5 setting affects it. I'm sure over time we can put in random passwords for all of our clients to reset. This just caught us by surprise. Thanks Everyone!
  16. THANK YOU! I realize that some of this is painfully obvious to many, but being new, it can be a bit like chasing your tail.
  17. Hello All I can't seem to figure out how to allow someone to pre-pay for services if there is no invoice generated in the system. You can't use the "add credit" from the client summary page because it does not show up in the transaction list. This is needed to reconcile the money at the end of the day. Can someone point us in the right direction? What is suggested for cash customers. I don't see a "gateway" to use for this. We have people who walk in the door to pay with good old fashioned CASH. Do we set the gateway to none or what is the suggested method of taking care of this? Arthur
  18. Thanks John. I appreciate it. I have to say that despite a few challenges, we are very happy with the product.
  19. Thanks for the replies. John, Well, we are on a monthly cycle so the bills are due at the end of each month. The problem is the way it showed up in the invoices... "(10/01/2010 - 10/31/2010)". This shows that we billed for October services. Actually, I've just looked at about 10 uesrs and it looks like the system DID bill for September and then October. Yes Othellotech... I DID get what I asked for. I just didn't realize THAT was what I was asking for. Like many things, there is more than one way to read the parameters. The catch in is *due* Being new to WHMCS should I assume that nothing will get double billed if I change the settings? What we WANT in plain English is to send a bill on the 1st or even the 6th of each month and give the customer 25 days before it becomes PAST DUE. Then at 45 days suspend their services. Of course if we have a Credit Card on file, we will charge it. Can I get some coaching on how to make this happen?
  20. Ok... first off, I'm sure this is a config problem on our side. We planned on having our first billing run September 1, 2010. The morning of we started adding all of our customer packages. The billing routine ran that night ad everyone got bills showing October service dates. Package xyz (10/01/2010 - 10/31/2010) Under Automation Settings - Billing Settings Invoice Generation Enter the number of days before the due payment date to generate invoices - 30 We want to bill on the first of the month for THAT month`s bills. I had read the above as if I wanted the bill due on the 30th of September, I would bill 30 days prior IE the 1st of September and it would all be good. Now I`m not sure what is going on. The package is set as follows: Prorata Billing X Tick this box to enable Prorata Date 1 Enter the day of the month you want to charge on Charge Next Month 25 Enter the day of the month after which point the following month will also be charged for with the first payment Can anyone tell us what these SHOULD be and also how to undo over 500 invoices that have been sent out so it can be corrected for the September month of servicesÉ It is possible we have other areas are messed up as well. Thanks in advance.
  21. Thanks John, Just to clarify, you are suggesting creating a one time invoice for the opening balance and then adjusting the invoice date and due date as needed. Then we would add their monthly recurring package to the account by adding a new order for the appropriate product/service?
  22. We are still in the process of migrating over to WHMCS. We've got many of the features working and set up properly.... so we think. I cannot find anywhere in the FAQ or How-To's that discusses opening balances. Is there a best practice for transitioning live and entering the customers packages and current balance? IE the customer is on Plan X but also has $35 owing from last month. Do we create some sort of invoice for the opening balance and then add their product/service to their account all on the first day of the month or??? If possible a specific example would be nice. This is one of those things we can't get wrong or it will be a mess. Thanks
  23. Thanks John, Yes, I see the CSV exports, but I'm looking for a simple printout. Is this something someone makes an add on for or are there options for adding additional reports to the system?
  24. I've been through about 20 pages of posts and cannot seem to find the answer. Is there a way to print off a complete customer list? I know you can export one and you can pull up a list that is paginated in order to select a specific customer, but what I am looking for is a printed customer list to give to the bean counters to skim over. Just a summary. If it was separated by product or product group that would be even better. Any thoughts? Arthur
