hmmm. No errors are showing up in the log. php_flag display_errors On php_value error_reporting 6143 cause an error

Hi, I am installing a new install. Everything begins working ok. The script does the system check to check for system requirements, then I fill out the license info and database info, then as I move to the next step (step 4), the script acts as if it is working, however just goes to page with any info. The INSTALL/UPGRADE WHMCS and header is on the page, however no other information. It does write data to the config file, it does not create any tables in the database. I re-uploaded all of the files (in binary mode) in case there was a fluke. Then I also tried a different web browser just in case. No errors, it just stops on step 4 with a blank page (with header). This is on a linux machine where permissions seem to be correct. Any ideas? Suggestions? Thanks much for your help.
