  1. Doing some testing and I find the setup fee is not being charged when a client makes an upgrade. Only the recurring fee is charged to the invoice for the new option. When a hosting order is upgraded by the addition of a product configurable option, which has both a setup fee and a recurring fee, should the setup fee not be included in the invoice for the new upgraded option? Any settings I'm missing or setting incorrectly? Thanks
  2. Hopefully I don't ruffle too many feathers but I don't feel many of these comments, and many of the other thread posted above, are what would be considered professional... As a business person I am not interested in pettiness and bravado in the business realm. Save it for your mates. I often put my personal viewpoints aside and focus on what improves the experience of my customers and my business bottom line. In the big picture that is what counts. The many variants of the English language are widely recognized. Accommodating these variants is no different than providing lang files for any other language. Most companies if they are wise customize their marketing materials to suit the local market. Language grammar and spelling is a big part of that process. Not everyone is knowledgeable of differences in the English Language and they may view these differences as a spelling error and view the company negatively. Being Canadian I have become very aware and very tolerant of the mix of UK and US English, thrown together with a far smattering of Canadian French words and sayings, that we experience everyday. But in my business I recognize that the huge US market is my main customer base and they are typically not so aware and tolerant of these differences. I gladly accommodate and cater to them. My Canadian customers on the other hand are so familiar with the variants that it is a non-issue for them. When it comes to business the customer trumps personal biases every time. I too agree with osCommerce that an English US lang file would be a benefit for many. It would be easy to delete it from the install like all the other lang files that are not needed. Claiming that WHMCS is a British company and so the English lang file will be “British” English is very limiting to the growth of WHMCS. PS. Sorry for the rant but language issues are a sore point for me...
  3. v3.8.1 On the Product Configuration page of the shopping cart a product's price is displayed as the billing cycle's monthly price plus the setup fee. This is alright as it gives a monthly price breakdown for the billing cycle. But the Configurable Options for the associated base product show the price of the option as the total cost for the whole billing period and not the monthly price as with the base product. For example: Base product: 3 Month Price - $46.66 USD + $299 USD Setup Fee Configurable Option: Option one - $139.99 USD + $99 USD Setup Fee The $139.99 is ($46.66 x 3 months). This pricing mismatch causes confusion to the purchaser. I feel both the base product and the option should display similar pricing structures. I'm sure there are arguments as to whether using monthly price or billing period price is better, but either way they should match to lessen the confusion. Maybe having the option to use either would be another feature...
  4. I'm presently testing WHMCS and would appreciate some help understanding how product upgrade/downgrades affect recurring payments. 1) I'm have the following understandings: a) when an upgrade/downgrade takes place the client will be refunded the unused portion of the current billing cycle on the existing product/service, and then charged for the remainder of the new billing cycle at the new product/services price. b) setup fees are not adjusted or refunded. Is this correct? 2) When a product is upgraded/downgraded, is the old recurring payment adjusted to the new invoice amount or is a new recurring payment created to replace the previous payment? 3) Is the old recurring payment changed by the payment gateway? 4) How does the Paypal gateway handle changes to recurring payments? Thanks, Doug
