  1. I'm trying to create a web design plan that will have an option to add on a hosting package. I have created the web design plans in whmcs and added the hosting packages as addons. When I simulate an order it goes through the motions up to the point when I go to accept the order and create, I get a login failed module error. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this to work?
  2. Its been a few weeks now and things have died down and we are proud to say that we have curb at least a few attempts of stealing of our work. Thanks for all your support and efforts to weigh in on this growing problem. We sure have brought light to this subject. We are getting a redirect from www.hostveteran.com every time we access it from our isp which is Road Runner in NY USA. It lands on our site when going to HV. It does go to the updating our website when we access their site from another isp. In any case, we have definately put a damper on the activity!
  3. Hi DeanClinton, An excellent article! I couldn't agree more with the writer that we need to as a collective body tie the online world to the real world when it comes to copyrighting works.
  4. Hi Sparky, May I add your input to my new site No More Rip? I wanted to add it to Design Techniques so that business owners will learn stratagies to protect their work.
  5. Hi Apollo1, The following is a direct quote from this site: http://depts.washington.edu/uwcopy/Copyright_Law/International_Copyright_Law/ No international copyright law exists that will protect a work in every country of the world. However, several key international treaties that the US has signed protects works from and within member nations. One can hope that as the awareness gets out there regarding this, more countries will jump on the bandwagon and start cracking down on this activity.
  6. Hi handsonwebhosting, Thank you very much for your valued feedback and comments. You are dead on when it comes to starting a Hosting Company. Not only does it take a good design, but it also takes unique "original" content to really facilitate traffic and build a following. It is a shame that companies like HV and HB get their traffic by ripping others hard work only to "call it their own". We trust that they are now working on legitimizing their operations and joining the ranks of honest and hard working business owners like ourselves.
  7. Hello to all, www.nomorerip.com is live... Please join us in kicking off our new website and help make the internet a safer place and protect our hard work! Feel free to comment and leave feedback. We have created catigories for each topic and welcome your input.
  8. Hi Sparkey, We just checked from another server from a different isp and we are seeing what you are. Somehow Host Veteran has redirected their site to ours, not sure how. Will monitor the activity.
  9. Hello to all, Now Host Veteran has stooped to an all time low and their site redirects to ours!!! What a absolute nightmare. We don't want any affliation with this company at all. Are any of you guys getting the same redirect?
  10. Hi Andrewboring, That is great news indeed! Let's hope they get Host Brella to take down their site ASAP! Its action like this that will help deter this trend of thieves from gaining more ground in the future.
  11. Hello to all, We are getting www.nomorerip.com setup and ready for content. We will keep everyone informed when its ready to go live. Thank you everyone for all your valued support and feedback on this.
  12. Good Morning to all, The past few days has been a whirlwind of activity bringing much needed attention to the growing problem of website piracy. Having been a recent victim of website theft, its time to band together and at least get the word out to the masses. Our goal is to put our collective heads together and provide information and steps to resolve this ever growing problem. We are asking for collective thoughts and ideas for our new website entitled www.nomorerip.com This site will be an advocacy for website piracy and outlet for small business owners like yourselves to share preventive measures and to track and report website theft out in the wild. Please join us in making the internet a much more genuine and unique place to share out talents and works.
  13. Hi Striddy, Yes it does! Funny now the isp block is lifted and we can get to www.hostveteran.com. The previous response from Host Veteran states that they went to archive.com and its showing that our site was up first. First of all, that site goes to a generic site that is a portal. Secondly, www.archive.org it the correct site and we don't have history on our site for 2008 yet from there as it has not published it to the archives. Host Veteran has no history whatsoever.
  14. Hello to all, We just got this response from Host Veteran this evening: Hello Scott, I have been busy trying to get in contact with the designer that sold me this template. I have failed to get a reply from him. I have also gone thru every image and html file on my server. After doing this I have noticed that there sure are a few images that are not being used by any of my html pages. However these few images are being used on your site. I have also checked archive.com and you sure did have this template first. I am now very suspicious of this template and will be purchasing a new template very soon from a reputable source. I am going to give my designer in question two days from today to respond to my contact attempts. If he does not respond by 11-19-08 I will take the template in question down immediately and destroy all files. I will also notify PayPal about this situation and see if I can get my money back. If I get my refund I will send half of it your way as a gift for your troubles. At that time I will also give you all the contact information of said designer so you may put a stop to this. Thank You
  15. Hi Sparky, We have proof from our Google Analytics that Host Veteran came to our site on October 29 for 4 visits. We tracked 2 visits on November 15th and 3 visits on November 16th. We do not know when Host Veteran published their site. It is safe to say it was very recent due to the fact that up until yesterday afternoon domaintools.com was still showing Host Veteran's old website thumbnail and by evening time, they were showing their current incarnation.
