Not true. I also need to be able to turn off this function. WHMCS is crediting the accounts incorrectly. It takes the payment is the customers chosen currency, but the payment gateway only accepts my local currency, so the whmcs module does the conversion. The problem is when it's reported back to whmcs, it's doesn't recognize that it has been converted and reports it back as USD, causing the system to think an overpayment had been made and crediting the account for the currency difference in USD as a perceived overpayment. So not only am I loosing money, but also have been paying myself for my customers accounts.
