I currently have a vps with a host that uses whmcs for billing. I used to run the script myself for a host I was part of that went under (I still have my licence for it), so I understand how it works (mostly). I'm going on holiday for a week when my next invoice for the vps is due, but I also have an ircd shell with them that is due the week before, but I wish to cancel it. Their advice is to simply not pay the invoice for services that aren't needed anymore (they have cancellation via whmcs disabled). I will be crediting my account with them for the vps after the invoice for the shell account has been generated. From what I understand, this means that the invoice for the shell will not be paid, but the vps invoice will be automatically paid when the invoice is generated providing my account has enough credit balance in it. Is this correct? (Edit: I have just noticed that i posted this in the wrong place...I meant to post it under the client discussion forum)

I'm currently trying to install whmcs on a free host i've got an account on. Not for hosting obviously. It's just to have a bit of a play around with as I haven't used it for well over a year now. They use softacalous for script installs, so i'm trying through that. However, I keep getting the following error: The following errors were found : * The license you entered is not a valid one. Please enter a Valid License I've reset my licence in the client area, and then tried again, but still get the same error. I've also tried downloading and installing it manually, and also get an error on licence collection. I forget what the error message was now, but it was something about being unable to contact the licence server. I'm pretty sure it's the firewall on the server blocking it, being a free host, but just wanted to get confirmation that the errors i'm getting would be caused by that.

Support expiry query regarding download and forum support
csc2ya replied to csc2ya's question in Pre-Sales Questions
With regards to this, downloads have now been completely disabled for my account, even for the versions I had access to before my support expired. I've already downloaded the latest version before it expired, so it's not a problem. However, it seems as though licence reissues may have also been disabled. Can anyone confirm whether the reissue button appears in their account if the licence is in the 'reissued' status, as it does not on mine, and i've forgotten whether it did originally? -
Support expiry query regarding download and forum support
csc2ya posted a question in Pre-Sales Questions
I've got an owned licence for WHMCS, which i've had for nearly a year (the support and updates expire next month) At the moment the licence is not being used due to problems meaning the company I was part of no longer exists. If I ever started using it again, would I still be able to download the last version that came out before my support expired, or would downloads for my account be disabled completely? Edit: Also, would the support being expired mean I will not able to reset my licence if I need to move to a different machine, or will this be unaffected. In addition, I understand that I would not be able to get support via tickets anymore unless I renewed the support and updates, but I am wondering whether this extends to support via these forums as well (I would assume not, but I just want to check) -
Error when entering domain name for order after upgrade
csc2ya replied to csc2ya's topic in Using WHMCS
Issue has been resolved by WHMCS support. Resolution was to reupload the 'includes' folder. -
I've just upgraded our installation to 3.7.1, which seemed to work with no problems. However, i've just tried placing an order to check that everything works, and can't get past the domain part. No matter what option I select, and no matter what domain name I enter, I get the following after clicking submit: The domain you entered is not valid # I can't figure out what's causing it though. Edit: I've rebooted the server to rule out a problem with that, but the error is still occurring.

Odd thing i've had happen this morning and wondered if I should be worried at all. I recieved at least 7 e-mails this morning from our whmcs installation telling me my ticket couldn't be submitted. All the error messages were sent to my company e-mail account. However, I didn't submit a ticket via e-mail, and I wouldn't from that address anyway as my own hosting account uses my personal e-mail. It may not have been from whmcs as we use kayako for support. We let clients decide which to use though. If they e-mail, it goes into kayako, or if they log in to their client area and do it through there, it goes into whmcs. I'm still a bit concerned though.

I have free hosting with our company. At the moment, I can't be bothered to do anything with my personal site, and so I suspended it through WHMCS until I can be bothered to get it built. However, I also have a domain registered which is under the same account, and points to a no-ip subdomain, which in turn points to my home ip where I have a web server running on an old computer. When I suspended the hosting, the redirection on the domain was changed to the url of the suspended page. I then had to log in to WHM and unsuspend the domain account seperately. Is it normal for a suspension of the hosting account to also affect domains under the same user's main account?
-
Thanks. I would have thought everything would have been ticked for that group by default. That was the problem though.
-
Unsure if this is normal or not, but i'm unable to do a database backup for whmcs. I'm a full administrator, but get the following message when I go to that section:

Thanks. I was hoping that would work:)

I was wondering if there is a way to stop tickets from being automatically closed by the system if they're inactive for a while on a single ticket basis. I'm dealing with a client who's having problems with his users not being able to access his website. I've found the problem, and have had to contact a third party network provider to try and get it resolved, but whmcs has closed the ticket after 3 days of inactivity. I've gone into the ticket properties, and set it to 'in progress'. Is that enough to stop it from being auto closed by the system?

I've currently got an open order for myself on our whmcs installation for a .org domain. We're using directi for domain name registrations. Payment has gone through without a problem, but I can now see the following error on the todo list, and I was also e-mailed by the system with it as well: Client ID 20 has paid for the registration of domain * and the automated registration attempt has failed with the following error: Domain Registration Error - Invoice is partly paid (i'm not putting the domain for obvious reasons) Does anyone know whether this is a whmcs error, or whether it's something at directi's end, and also if possible, what causes it?
-
We have had this as well. I think this happens if a malicious user spoofs an address that you use for whmcs's sticket system. Basically, if it allowed it, the system would keep replying to itself, eventually crashing the server.

I had a strange problem with WHMCS earlier. I have an owned licence for it. I logged in to the admin area to check for new orders, just happened to go to the licence section and noticed the following: Registered To License Key * License Type Valid Domain Valid IP Created Expires Everything apart from the licence key was blank. I logged into my whmcs account and reset my licence before reapplying it, and it's now displaying correctly in the admin area. I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem and was able to give me some idea of why this had happened.

We have ours set so that the account is automatically terminated after one month. If the customer wishes to upgrade either the day the free trial ends, or prior to this, they can do so by contacting us via our support website. We also have it set so that we have to manually activate free trial accounts, so we can check that they are not abusing it by signing up over and over again.

I've got this fixed now. We recently moved to a different host due to problems with our old one. I had forgotten to update the ip for our server in whmcs after copying all the files across:-P Thanks for your help anyway.

We are currently running whmcs on a centos vps that has cpanel installed. We moved provider a few days ago due to constant problems with the existing providers network. Everything has been copied over using the cpanel copy function. After moving everything over, we changed our domain over, reset the whmcs licence and applied it on the new server. Everything is working apart from one small thing, but we may get customers contacting us thinking there is a problem, when there actually isn't. The problem is that the service name for apache is different on the new vps. Whereas before it was http, it is now httpd. The server status part of the script is obviously looking for an http service and can't find one and so it says the http service is down: Is there a way to change what service the script is looking for, to prevent this problem?
