Showing existing payment method in checkout page

Hi there, We have an issue with custom payment module, when an existing customer checks out the stored credit card doesn't show in the checkout page, instead it shows a form to add the credit card details, however when the customer selects a different payment method such as stripe, the saved credit card will show up. Any advice on where to start off? Thanks.
