Disable automatic invoice generation

Can somebody help me with this, please? -
Hello all, I want to disable automatic invoice generation. I want an automatic email being sent to the customer when the service expires or is near to expire, but I don't want to create a new invoice. How can I disable this? The only way I know is to disable automation settings, but in that case all automatic things are disabled. Can someone help me please? Kind Regards, Peter
