sitemap
I'm still testing my WHMCS installation and when a client place an order for Domain only and invoice is marked as paid shouldn't domain be automatically registered? Or is it only work if they order hosting with domain in which case domain is automatically registered? I see there's no welcome email for domain only, so I assume it's not done automatically?
Host4cheap
Yes, Domains are not Registered Automatically atm. The Admins have to confirm the order manually. However, Matt said...Automatic Domain Registration will be available as an option in next release

sitemap
I don't get it, whats the point of integration with domain register (like Enom) if doesn't do anything?
PPH
It allows you to accept the order to prevent fraud, then registers the domain for you. If you get a fraud order and it registers the domain for you then you have purchased a domain for someone and then don't get paid. The integration also allows customers to change their contact and dns servers along with locking and unlocking their domain.
sitemap
WHMCS will register domain for you after you accept the order? But only if it was ordered with hosting, not if you order just domain?
PPH
pretty sure it registers them as long as you tell it to. Gives you the opportunity to choose which registrar also I have done the registration with hosting live and I believe I also did domain only when I was testing.
sitemap
It doesn't work for domain only. I made a test order and approved it and marked it as paid and nothing happened (in terms of registering domain). Also in email templates there isn't a template for domain registration only?
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted February 16, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted February 16, 2007 You can register any domain in the WHMCS system when accepting the order - whether it is with a hosting account or not makes no difference. You can also do it anytime from the domains details page - not just when accepting an order. There is a Domain Registration Confirmation email which is the email that gets sent when it's registered. sitemap
Matt, I found the template for domain registration, my bad. But, I made an order for domain only as a client. Then I marked order as paid as admin and approved it, but domain wasn't registered nor client received any email. I don't see any option Register domain or something similar when viewing domain.
PPH
Do you have your registrar setup in the configuration for whmcs?
sitemap
Yes, I use Enom and have entered username and password for it (did not enable test mode).
PPH
If you go to the client area now that you have already accepted the order and didn't register. Choose the domain tab and choose the registrar drop down box in the left column and choose Enom... You should see a register and transfer and renew etc button towards the bottom
