Automatic domain registration

Recommended Posts

I'm still testing my WHMCS installation and when a client place an order for Domain only and invoice is marked as paid shouldn't domain be automatically registered? Or is it only work if they order hosting with domain in which case domain is automatically registered?

I see there's no welcome email for domain only, so I assume it's not done automatically?

It allows you to accept the order to prevent fraud, then registers the domain for you. If you get a fraud order and it registers the domain for you then you have purchased a domain for someone and then don't get paid.

The integration also allows customers to change their contact and dns servers along with locking and unlocking their domain.

You can register any domain in the WHMCS system when accepting the order - whether it is with a hosting account or not makes no difference. You can also do it anytime from the domains details page - not just when accepting an order. There is a Domain Registration Confirmation email which is the email that gets sent when it's registered.

Matt,

I found the template for domain registration, my bad.

But, I made an order for domain only as a client. Then I marked order as paid as admin and approved it, but domain wasn't registered nor client received any email. I don't see any option Register domain or something similar when viewing domain.

If you go to the client area now that you have already accepted the order and didn't register. Choose the domain tab and choose the registrar drop down box in the left column and choose Enom... You should see a register and transfer and renew etc button towards the bottom :)
