stardotstar
Hi all, no joy searching this one out... I added a new product which will link to a cPanel hosting service: I want to charge a $300 annual hosting fee and $100 monthly service fee... When I set up the pricing table I used -1.00 to indicate disabled pricing options as in attachment but when I look at the ordering options as a customer I get the pricing quoted as:L " $100.00 AUD Monthly + $-1.00 AUD Setup Fee" Anyone know why the -1 value has not flagged as disabled and instead shown as an option? Is this simply because I can't mix annual and monthly payment options? This is v4.1.2 - and a relatively new setup. TIA. *.
JofleyUK
You dont need to setup "-1" in the setup fields. Only the Monthly/Annually etc etc.
stardotstar
Thank you so much! So, it seems that I can't get it to show an annual recurring setup of $300 and a recurring monthly of $100? ie the first invoice would be $300 annual + $100 for first month next invoices would be $100 until the anniversary when it would be $400 again? Does this mean that I need to set it up as $1500pa or $125/mo - ie I can't split the monthly service fee from the recurring setup? Sorry I am getting very confused about how I can achieve what I want to do with this product... Do I need to setup a separate product of $100/mo and have it as a mandatory option of a recurring Annual $300 hosting service or something?> TIA Edited November 22, 2009 by stardotstar
stardotstar
...OK So Setup is one off as such rather than being able to be a separate recurring fee. I think that means that I need to do what I have suggested and price it into either a monthly or annual price. $125/mo or $1500/pa I can't use the setup fields for anything that I want to recur?
JofleyUK
The setup fee will only be charged upon order, so say you have a monthly item at £30 which is £100 setup. The customer will only be charged the £100 setup once and £30 per month until they cancel. The same applies to annually. so they will not be charged the annual fee for a monthly service, this includes the annual setup fee. The annual setup fee only applies to a product being selected as annual billing, they are treated as separate entities.
stardotstar
Thank you, it makes sense now. It truly is a once off setup with the order. Best Regards, Will
