swhitley
I have just installed WHMCS (latest stable version). I *can* login to the admin console when I am logged into the server (Windows 2003). I *cannot* login to the admin console from any other machine. I have tried machines on 2 different networks with multiple browsers. I *can* login to the client portal from any machine. When I try to login to the admin console and I am not on the server, I simply see the failed login page: Login Failed. Please Try Again. Your IP has been logged and admins notified of this failed login attempt.
openmind
Have you setup any rules in the firewall or similar to not allow logins from IPs outside the server?
swhitley
Have you setup any rules in the firewall or similar to not allow logins from IPs outside the server? Good thought, but I can login to the WHMCS client just fine, and I didn't setup any special rules for the admin directory.
swhitley
Strange. It just started working again. I can now login to the admin console when I'm not on the server.
swhitley
This was a newbie question. It turns out that WHMCS is just very security conscious when it comes to multiple logins. I've found that if I make sure I am logged out of all sessions, then I can almost always login from anywhere. If I'm still having trouble (probably due to testing) I can clear my browser cookies and then I can login.
