CrimsonGT
So I setup a subdomain on my webhost, its clientarea.brutalservers.net and it works fine. It is set to point to my /whmcs/ directory. However, when I go to brutalservers.net/whmcs/admin it bugs out about the license key being invalid blah blah, whereas clientarea.brutalservers.net/admin works fine. Do I need to do something to get this to work?
thehost5968
Yes just use the sud-domain name and if you do not want to use the sub.domain name but to use the directory path them remove the sud-domain name and reinstall and reissue WHMCS in the path you would like to use as you should not put it in a sud-domain and then only use the paths.
SilverNodashi
A better way to do this, is to create the subdomain in WHM as a new account. Just create the account as "clientarea.brutalservers.net" (after you have removed it from your cPanel. This will allow you to give the account a dedicated IP, for SSL purposes, and it could also be more secure since you don't need to login to it every day as with your main website's cpanel. If the main website's cPanel got compromised, then the accounting stuff is still safe at least. DNS will be fine, since a sub domain is in fact still a domain, i.e. www is a subdomain of brutalservers.net
