How can I process a transaction rebate?

Hi, I got a check from Verizon with a rebate for a service I got from them. So I want to add this to my WHMCS as income for the day, I tried adding it as a regular "Transaction" with no client name (Any), but it doesn' t show on my total for the day's income.

 

So I had to create a customer named VARIZON, then create an invoice and then process a transaction for it.

 

Is there an easier way to do this?
