dswp
I am adding a newsletter html template with the css commented out in the head, and it is being stripped out, everytime I 'update' the html screen. PLUS, I see nowhere to attach an image- only insert directly. This is my first html template -Am I way off here? C.
e-bex
I am having the same problem too. When I add my html to the custom email template and hit update, the page goes white.
e-bex
Well the original problem that I was experiencing was due to including the opening and closing html tags with the doctype. So I was able to get the html newsletter to show but as reported by dswp, the css styles are getting stripped.
dswp
I figured this out - apparently, this is a known problem/solution. It is good that the css is stripped from the head, because it isn't getting displayed across very many email clients anyway. So you have to actually add in-line styling to EVERYTHING. defeats the purpose of css, but anyhow, that's the way it 'tis! Once you get your template set up - (now I know why there is a TEMPLATE for emails!) you can just cut and paste the text in and out to avoid restyling everything!! Bleck! good luck!
