MonkeyMagic
Hi Everyone, I discovered a weird thing with WHMCS today, and I wonder if I am the only one. Today is the first of the month and as per normal, we do all our invoicing etc on the first of the month. However, there were 5 clients who's invoices were not charged to their credit cards and an email was issue to them which had the following in it: "We tried to bill you automatically but were unable to because we don't have your credit card details on file." Now, this is impossible as we didn't delete the CC details, and neither did the clients ... and for it to happen to FIVE customers was no coincidence. On further investigation, we found that ALL clients CC expiry dates were 09/09. We restored the CC details from backups we had and charged the invoices to the CC's and it worked fine (remember, expiry of 09/09 means the cards will still work for the whole of this month). The big question is ... what happened to the credit card details??? Is WHMCS auto-deleting expiring CC's??? Anyone else come across this??
smartart
Yes I have seen the exact same thing, once again with exp dates 09/09. the card details are gone even though the cards are fine til the end of the month. I think auto deleting expired cards is OK as it saves pointless transactions, but they need to be removed 1st of the following month. so if the exp says 09/09, removed on 1st october for instance. I see a few more threads here covering the issue as well, it needs to go to the top of the bug pile.
JofleyUK
If you submit a ticket to Mat, he may be able to get a fix applied until the next release comes out.

I think deleting cards is a BIG no no! regardless if the CC is expired. If the concern is the cost of the transaction, then the best way to do it is for WHMCS to check the CC expiry date, if it is AFTER the expiry date then the transaction is not passed to the merchant account. As people have mentioned above, we have customers who email and say, its the same card number, but new expiry is XX / XX. With the CC removed, when then have to call the customers (sometimes for days chasing them) just to ask them the CC number we should have already had.
