Using WHMCS to allow clients to make payments

meechp123

Question

Does anyone use WHMCS to allow customers to make payments? For instance, I would like to send customers an invoice and state that they can make their payment online. They would enter in the amount on the invoice and input it into the form (provided WHMCS allows this).

I don't see why not, just wondering.

What I mean is this:

I design websites and when customers request updates or new features, I make the update/feature, send them an invoice and wait 15-30 days to receive a check.

I would like to cut this completely out of the process.

If Client A owes me $100 for making a bunch of updates, can I create a web page called "Make A Payment" where Client A can make a payment of $100? Does WHMCS handle these type of payments?

Yes you can make an invoice for any amount you wish and send it to any client you'd like, however depending on your payment method you may need to wait to receive the actual payment (ie. a check will take a few days by mail, however credit/debit cards will be instant, and bank transfers will take 3-4 business days).

Great! So, I can create invoices, but, I can't have a page where they can just make a payment?

Thanks for all your help! You're very helpful!

They get a link to the invoice page, for example something like:

https://www.mysite.com/accounting/viewinvoice.php?id=007

With this link (after logging in), the client can see what he's being charged for and any other additional information you list, and there is also a pay now link which will work with your payment gateway of choice (PayPal, Moneybookers, 2CO, AlertPay etc.).
