ServWise.com
Has anyone else experienced paypal IPN failing with WHMCS today? I logged into paypal last night and saw a notice that they were updating something which I ignored. This morning every paypal IPN (3 so far) 2 seem not to have arrived and one has shown as ERROR in the gateway log. I'm guessing paypal have made a change which is effecting IPN....
aXeR
Yup I'm noticing this too, am just hoping something Paypals end is broken rather than changes have been made
ServWise.com
Just want to confirm, I have been putting the transactions in manualy (Inc paypal transaction ID), if these IPN's come in later they wont give the client a load of credit will they?
aXeR
I don't think so, once its failed that's it I think, keep a note of who you've manually applied payments on though, that's what I'm doing!
ServWise.com
Problem is that only one has actually shown as failed, the other two have just not been received at all it seems (Website log seems to confirm this). Anyway I would "hope" that whmcs is intelligent enough to ignore the dup payment rather than automatically applying it as credit but we will see
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted August 20, 2009 WHMCS CEO Share Posted August 20, 2009 Providing you've entered the correct sellers transaction ID when manually adding the payment then it wouldn't get added again if another callback occurs for it. aXeR
Good to know Matt, does that mean that if we don't add it, it will get added itself or not? For me, the Paypal transaction shows up on my Gateway transaction list as 'failed'
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted August 20, 2009 WHMCS CEO Share Posted August 20, 2009 Depends what PayPal do. I doubt their system would be intelligent enough to go back and re-send previous callback notifications that failed. You can keep an eye on the status @ http://www.pdncommunity.com/t5/blogs/blogarticlepage/blog-id/mts_updates/article-id/434 Matt

bobby35ny
If you look in the gateway log, the result is reporting ERROR -bobby
