ozace
Hi, I have searched for this on forum - apologies if I have missed it. I want to create a custom field that only admin sees for a product. I will then have my own page that displays this field - so will read the database direct to do that and pass to the tpl. Key question I have is that I can see how to create the product specific custom field - but how do I assign a value to that field? Do I have to update the DB direcly - just cant find where admin would enter the data - is there somewhere in admin that I can do this (and subsequently update it if needed ?) hope it isnt a stupid question Jim
lysenshi
There should be an option to hide the custom field [by checking Admin Only], and you can add values for the created custom field for each product. as when you list All Products/Services and click on certain item to see details. hope it was clear answer
ozace
Hi, yes I ticked the admin field (and also required field), gave the field a name - made it a text box. Saved it. Nowhere on that page that I can add a value (shows only field validation and options on either template - I didnt put in any field options or validation) Then went to main product page and showed the list that has this field in it and nothing shows up to allow me to add a value. Simply cant see anywhere that I can add a value? what page should this come up on ? I am confused - am sure I have entered the fields correctly. What I am trying to do is to give a little more information for each product that I can then extract in a custom page and present to the user. Is this the correct approach anyway ? cheers Jim
