crazyfish
Hi, I keep running into this issue, about 99% of the time when someone contacts me saying they can't log into whmcs it turns out when they copied the password out of the welcome email it copied an extra space at the beginning or the end of the password making the password incorrect. How do you get around this issue, I can add a warning into the welcome email but there must be a better way? Does anyone else run into this issue?
lysenshi
I just checked the 'Reseller Account Welcome Email' template, there was a space before the password variable, may be you like try to put the password in separate line alone?!
DataHosts
To my knowledge this is not a WHMCS issue, but a Windows PC problem. I have this same problem when I copy initial passwords emailed to me from any other company. The way around it is to put the cursor at the beginning, hold shift, and press the right arrow to the end. Then CTRL+C and you are good to go.
DedicatedPros
When double clicking on a word sometimes the space after/before it gets highlighted too, but most people know this and are careful when copying these things.
crazyfish
I guess the only thing would be can you set it to ignore blank spaces in the password? Then it wouldn't matter if they accidentally copy a space at the beginning or the end of the password.
DataHosts
why not just click, ctrl+c, and paste? Is it that hard to do this? I see no issue with WHMCS doing this as 98% of the other programs, apps, and web apps I use have this as well.
crazyfish
I don't have the issue, I'm tired of support tickets saying the system won't let me login. Having to instruct clients on how to copy and paste is a massive waste of time, so I am looking for a solution that doesn't require the client to do anything.
tbenoit
A quick trim() would help
