Any large installations of WHMCS out there starting at 1000+ clients ? Just try to understand upper limits of the package. Are there licensing charges based on the number of clients? We have an old Optigold install that we need to replace. We are using it to support dialup, DSL and T1 customers with a little web hosting also thrown in.

We don't do tiered pricing so if you buy a license, you can use it with as many clients as you want. And we have users with many thousands of active clients, services and invoices using WHMCS - there's no fixed limit to what it can handle.
