Hide affiliate code from statusbar

hello all.

 

<a href="http://www.whmcs.com" onMouseDown="this.href='http://www.whmcs.com/members/*?aff=1125';"target="_blank" style="text-decoration:none;">WHMCS</a>

 

this works fine for all browsers but only for 1 click. once clicked, it reviles the true location of the url.

 

the idea here is to use this code to hide affiliate links + to be able to integrate it in WHMCS for our affiliates to use as well.

 

A proposed solution should work on all major browsers

 

feedback would be nice and a possible solution.

PS. please no comments on how one might see the aff code from the source file or browsers with disabled javascript and so on.
