Order Form Question

I am trying to understand the order form logic when placing an order. Whenever I add a hosting package to my cart, I see the following (WHICH I EXPECTED):

The product/service you selected requires a domain name. Please enter your domain name below.

I want XYZ to register a new domain name for me.

I want to transfer my domain name to XYZ.

I will update the nameservers on my existing domain name, or register a new domain name elsewhere.

The first two options work as expected; however, the last does not.

Let's say someone registered a domain name only, or already has one, then visits and wants to add hosting. The third option makes the most sense in this case, but if the domain is registered with us already, the message "The domain you entered is already registered with us. You cannot place an order for this domain." appears.

I don't view this as trying to place an order for a domain, nor do I see why WHMCS "cares" whether the domain name is already registered with my company. It should merely associate the domain with the hosting order and proceed.

I am aware of the option "Block Existing Domains", and this is checked because I don't want to have to issue credits should someone "order" one of their existing domains.

As I mentioned previously, I don't think I should receive the message I see because I am merely associating a domain with the hosting order, NOT placing any order for a domain.

Any help on clearing this up would be greatly appreciated.
