TheSidewinder
I searched as best I could, so if this was addressed somewhere else, apologies. Managed to IP ban myself because I had password recorded wrong. I can wait the 15 minutes, I know, but should I REALLY need to get in sooner, how do you fix that so you can get back in right away? I erased the record of the ban in "tblbannedips", but it popped right back in there when I visited the Admin page and tried to login again. So, I then set the expire time to 2 minutes from "now". Waited 5 minutes, but it still popped back in there. What is the procedure to manually remove that ban before the expire time, using (I assume) phpMyAdmin? Or is there no way, for security reasons? Thanks in advance.
Dominic
Perhaps you were re-visiting the banned page which re-entered the details to the table? Offhand removing the record should be fine.
TheSidewinder
No, I actually closed the browser between attempts. But I *think* I may have found what step I missed. I'm not going to test it, though. Don't want to lock myself out. Again. Remove the record I mentioned, AND in "tbladmins" set your account's "loginattempts" to zero. Perhaps someone can confirm this.
