Enom : Apply WhoIs Info

Hello guys,

I have already had a few incidents of this nature.

For some reason Enom will place our main account info in the whois. I have contacted Enom about this (has only happened 2 times in 3000 transfers), and this is what they say:

Greetings,

The most common reason why this occurs is because when asked to transfer a domain name there is a "Apply WhoIs Info" option. This option transfers the customer's contact details with the domain. This is checked on by default and is labeled as 'recommended'.

However, if this box is unchecked, when a domain transfers into an account it will have the Master account (the information listed under the 'my info' section) applied to the domain name. Which may be why it is happening so rarely for domains that are being transferred into your account.

It is best to strongly advise your customers to leave the box checked when initiating a transfer order.

If you have any additional questions regarding this matter, please let us know.

Thank you for choosing us as your domain name registrar, we appreciate your business.

Regards,

xxxxxxxxxxx
