Custom client field on invoice

Hello,

 

How do I add a custom client field to invoice (HTML and PDF).

Like VAT ID for instance.

 

I've located the viewinvoice.tpl file, but I don't know how o access the client's custom fields.

 

Can someone give me a smarty code example?
