roop
Hi, I've got a problem where a few domains have been renewed for twice as long as they should have been, and I think I've narrowed it down to our manual involvement. The issue is that a customer's domain had expired, they phoned up as it stopped working, and we told them what had happened. As they are a good customer we agreed to renew it immediately for them to get back online and they'll sort out the payment within a few days. To renew the (.com) domain we logged into whmcs, and clicked the "renew" button on the domain page, which got it working again. When the customer paid the invoice several days later WHMCS renewed the domain again. I had the same issue with a new order. Client placed order with a colleague over the phone, colleague created/processed order in WHMCS, registered domains, and sent invoice. When the client paid the invoice a couple of weeks later the .com domain was automatically renewed by WHMCS, so the client paid for 1 year and the domain expires in 2 years. I understand that it is our human involvement that is causing the problems, but how are other people getting around the problem? In (dreaded!) MB we used to be able to see the renew command/action in the API queue and delete it manually, but I can't see where WHMCS queues/stores it's commands, or even if they are listed anywhere or just immediately actioned upon invoice payment? Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rupert
simplybe
You could turn off the autmatic renewal on payment received and process all renewals manually: whmcs admin /general settings/domains / uncheck Automatically renew domains which are set to a supported registrar when they are paid for I have the same problem as you, what i do is when a domain is renewed manually I set the domains registrar to none so that it cant be renewed on payment received. I then have to go back after payment and set the registrar back. Not ideal but got fed up of paying for a second renewal out of my own pocket. V4 of whmcs is almost here so maybe there will be some more features to help with this
