SeanShepardWI
I just received my first fraud order. Paid by Paypal, submitted immediate unauthorized use claim. The problem is, I'm out $10 because I have automatic domain registration setup. Can I change a setting so that domain registration is only done once I "activate" a pending order instead of after payment? I still want web hosting to be set up on payment, but delay the domain for my approval. I'm fuming and can hardly type. To prevent him from coming back I had to remove paypal temporarily as a payment option.
BAJI26
One of the main reasons I don't use PayPal. Sorry to hear!
HostOrca
Do you use maxmind, or other fraud screening services? I don't think that you can have hosting accounts automatically setup, but not domains. Because of the high amount of fraud you tend to get in this industry, quite a few hosts do not use automatic account creation, instead, they do it manually after they have vetted the order. Which registrar do you use, contact them and tell them it was a fraud order, enclose any emails etc regarding the chargeback. They might be able to cancel the domain, as long as you do not leave it to long Edited April 13, 2009 by HostOrca
scurrell
Can I change a setting so that domain registration is only done once I "activate" a pending order instead of after payment? On your Domain Pricing page, set "Automatic Registration" to "None". If the order is OK, change the registrar on the order when you submit the registration.
GORF
On your Domain Pricing page, set "Automatic Registration" to "None". If the order is OK, change the registrar on the order when you submit the registration. And what if you use multiple registrars? You would have to go and look up which one is for that extension then return to the order to select one. Seems like a waste of time to me. IMHO, no action should be taken on ANY item in the order until accepted. Then use whatever settings for each item: Use server#3 for the hosting account (default for that product) and use Registrar ABC for the domain name (default for that product).
