I added a download and then removed it as well as the category but it still remains in the download section. here is the link/info

http://www.modernmarketting.com/whmcs/

example login info (because download was only allowed to registered users)

Username/email: example@examplenotexists.com

Password: example

not only can this download not be removed but its linked to a file: "dl.php",,, which is NOT the right download file lol

I created a support ticket for this but they asked for my cPanel login info which made me VERY nervous, any help that will keep me from compromising sensitive information and get this fixed will be VERY APPRECIATED :)

There is no need for you to worry about the integrity of Support here. They can be trusted entirely and they are your best bet for resolving this.:)

It is always wise though to be on the safe side but as long as you use this URL https://www.whmcs.com/support/submitticket.php?step=2&deptid=4 you will be perfectly OK.

Do you have SSH access? It's quite possible that these files are set to the wrong owner.

If you have SSH, run the following command:

# chown insertusername:insertusername insertfilename

Then, try to delete the file.

If you don't have SSH access, you'll need to open a ticket with your provider.
