API: Create Client custom field

Hello,

 

When using the API to create a client, I want to also add to one of the custom client fields I have. Say my custom client field is called "Simple Choice" and the ID is "16", how would I Insert for the 'simple choice' option?

 

I thought during my create client, I would use:

 

$postfields["16"] = "something here";

 

Not sure. Any ideas?
