attroll
I have had problems trying to type in a large description in my knowledge base. Is there a limit to how many characters you can type in my knowledge base? I can add small writeups, but when I try to post a large on I get the following error. Forbidden You don't have permission to access /whmcs/admin/supportkb.php on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apache/1.3.37 Server at http://www.whiteblazehosting.net Port 80
MACscr
how large are you trying? Ive done some pretty large ones without issues. Which version are you using? Could be a bug in v3 in the db field size. Maybe your kb article has a word in it that mod_security doesnt like. Do you have that enabled?
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted December 31, 2006 WHMCS CEO Share Posted December 31, 2006 Maybe your kb article has a word in it that mod_security doesnt like. Do you have that enabled? That is exactly what the cause will be. I've had it before. There's no limit on the size of article you can have.
attroll
Maybe your kb article has a word in it that mod_security doesnt like. Do you have that enabled? I can not find this mod_security thing that your talking about in the WHMCS to see if I have it enabled. Where is it?
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted December 31, 2006 WHMCS CEO Share Posted December 31, 2006 It's not a WHMCS thing - it's a server thing. Matt
generic
if you want to post your article here, im sure one of us could try to add it to our systems to see if smiilar errors occur. but i would guess its a character like / or " or /" i did have a specific character set issue with another help desk product, cant remember what it was.
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted December 31, 2006 WHMCS CEO Share Posted December 31, 2006 The word "curl" used to be blocked by mod_security on our server and prevented support tickets from being submitted about curl issues. Then people complained our ticket system didn't allow tickets to be submitted! I don't think characters like that are an issue. generic
was able to post that just fine in my system.. cpanel server. look into the html editor code for stray markup, that also caused an issue for me at one time...
attroll
After reading all the replies I went back and started playing with some things. I found out that there was a word that was causing this error. It was the word "plant". Do not ask me why this does it but if I remove the word plant from the writeup then I can get it to save. Is there a setting someplace on my server or in WHMCS that is causing this word to do this?
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted January 1, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted January 1, 2007 If you have root access, login to WHM, scroll right down to the bottom on the left and you should see an option "Mod_Security". You can edit the rules from there. Matt
