generic
I have been playing with the system and have a question. I want to offer additional services like seo services that can be added at signup or at a later date which will be a monthly recurring service charge. I see 2 ways to add additional services - is it best to do this as a separate service, or as a product addon. When i did it as an addon, its not readily vissible in the clients area as a recurring charge until you go to view. When its a service its creates an additonal "account" which seems to be a bit confusing in the admin cp. Why are there products/services and addons - i just dont understand what each was created for. can anyone give me an idea how they do it any why? so far i love this system, justrying to understand it before I convert from lpanel.
0 WHMCS CEO Matt Posted December 22, 2006 WHMCS CEO Share Posted December 22, 2006 Basically, if your customers order the item along with a "main" product or service you offer then the item should be setup as a product addon for this main item. If your customers can buy this item on its own, then it should be setup as a product or service. For example, you might have Web/Template Design as a Product/Service with a one time charge of $75 and then as Product Addons you could have Flash Animation at $50 and SEO at $100. Hope that helps! 0 generic
yes that answeres it perfect, now for one about addons, i will be using authorize.net with cc processing. Quesiton Will the customer get one credit charge of $15 per month then if they have hosting for $10 and an seo addon for $5, or are the products and the associated addons charged separately?
0 WHMCS CEO Matt Posted December 22, 2006 WHMCS CEO Share Posted December 22, 2006 As long as both items are billed monthly and ordered on the same day, they will be charged together in one charge of $15/month. With addons however, your clients can order them from the client area at any time so one month they may order the hosting package, then a few months later they may order the SEO addon. Unless they order both items on the same day of the month, they would then be charged seperately. Regards, Matt
