wehostem
Ok, I just have a question on how it works. Say I open up any one of my email address, and I email an address I have setup on the server I have running whmcs, and has a forwarder set to the pipe.php file. Will that "open" a ticket in my support ticket system? Right now it doesn't I just want to make sure it is suppose to do that? I do get them on replies but not on new emails. Is there a way to make it open a ticket when someone emails an address I have setup with a forwarder?
DataHosts
Yes...email piping into WHMCS will open a new ticket to the department in which that email is associated with.
YodaCows
I'll jump on this thread instead of starting a new one. I have a fairly good handle on WHMCS, but the piping aspect still alludes me. I run the business all by myself, and have constant access to my WHMCS Admin panel. Do I need to setup piping or can I just login to WHMCS to respond to tickets? Thanks. ~YC
wehostem
Ok, I let it go overnight, and I got two new tickets created this morning so it seems to be working now?

Email piping isn't for admins to reply to tickets. Email piping allows clients to open and reply to support tickets, for example if a client sends an email to support@yourdomain.com it would open a ticket in WHMCS with the content of the email. Also, if a client replies to the email that gets sent when you respond to a ticket, it will add their response to the ticket as well.
YodaCows
Ah I see, then customers wouldn't have to log in just to submit a ticket. Ok thanks. ~YC
wehostem
I also take it this process isn't instant? Like when receiveing an email you kind of get it right away? Seems like there is a good amount of time from when the email is sent to when it actually becomes a support ticket in whmcs. Anyone else?
