whmcs server

Question

Hi,

Can someone tell me if it is possible to run whmcs on a different server to the actual hosted accounts?

I have a VPS which is PCI DSS compliant so I would like to have my whmcs running on that (.com) whilst the actual hosted accounts/whm etc is on another server (.net), which is a shared reseller account and therefore not PCI compliant.

I want to use Paypal Pro.

Thanks,

Paul.

We run our WHMCS system on a completely different server to our clients hosting, and I believe this is the way that every provider should be.

Personally I think it is kind of silly running your site/whmcs off a server to which your own clients are hosted, for a large number of reasons.

Cheers,

Dale

I agree with Dale, and have always run our billing and support sites (and forums and blogs etc) on different machines than what our customers are operating. Not only is it ideal for speed and operation, but from a security point it's strongly recommended to keep your customer data as secure as possible. I'd not run any of our client sensitive information on the same machine as a shared customer. Same with our DNS - that stays off shared machines.
